Biography
John Bambrick is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Missouri and has worked in non-profit settings for over 25 years. Since 2018, John has worked as a Social Worker and Chaplain for Hospice of Northeast Missouri, a service of Hannibal Regional. In addition to the hospice work, John started part-time with Complete Family Medicine in August of 2026 to offer counseling services.
John offers person-centered therapy and specializes in working with adults who are experiencing grief or loss of any kind. He also helps those struggling with anxiety or depression, finding their direction in life, and optimizing their potential. John has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT-informed).
John has a Bachelor's in Social Work with a minor in Theology from Marquette University. John also has a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University Chicago. In 2025, John completed a Master's in Social Work at Fort Hays State University. John is supervised by Dr. Gary Behrman, PhD, MSW, M.Div., LCSW.
John is passionate about helping clients minimize their suffering and maximize their flourishing. John believes in creating a truly safe space, where someone can share anything without shame. Creating this safe, non-judgmental space is one of John’s top priorities as a counselor.
Outside of work, John loves vegetable gardening, cutting firewood, playing basketball, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and children.
